Before, you come into our forums, or attempt to email the webmaster or members of this site, please be aware of some things. We have ALL been religious before. Yes, we have heard the "good news", and we "know" all about the story of jesus, or muhummad, doesn't matter what brand you are selling, we are all stocked up.
Point is, without being totally rude, this site is intended to be a recovery site. So, like you would not bring a bottle of vodka to an AA meeting, please think long and hard before you bring a holy book to an exreligious site!
Most of us are here because religion has "harmed" us more than helped us. Does not matter if it was due to discrimination, or out right persecution, and everyone's favorite, "oppression", we were harmed by religion more than helped.

There are many religions in the world that tell it's members to recruit new ones. They go on "missions", evangelize, spread the "good news" or the "word". This is NOT the place to cut your teeth trying to recruit new members. Most will either ignore you, or treat you with hostility. This is a NON-VIOLENCE promoting web site, meaning we use ONLY words to defend our non-religious viewpoint. But many people here use those words well, so *if* you make the mistake of trying to preach to us, be prepared for some heated, and intelligent resistance and debate.
The Screaming, Farting Preacher:
If you are not aware, please be aware now, that when one sheds the delusion that is religion, you will be viewed to be just as ridiculous as this preacher is viewed in the youtube above. Yes, it is an edited vid, yes, we *know* its only a sound manipulation, but the "point" is this, comedy or not, this video pretty much expresses how *crazy* preaching can be, and pretty much describes how many of us feel about being preached to.
Most Religions Use Preaching To Survive
The act of preaching, or spreading the word about one's religion is as old as religion itself. There is really very little chance for religion to survive on it's own merit without some sort of recruitment effort. Most of the mainstream religions in the world today exist still because of recruitment. One has only to surf certain web sites, or read certain books to see all of the falsehoods and outdated materials in modern religion. One such site is the SAB:
The SAB (Skeptic's Annotated Bible) is one of the leaders on the internet showing all the errors in biblical text. Not just christianity, but islam as well. Before you start slamming holy book, or bible verses at us, be aware that not only do we know the books are flawed, we can also point out most of the flaws with data like this.
There is a section however, in the forums area, where if you *really* MUST fill a need within you to preach, it will be allowed there.
